Cheryl Adler Iozzo is a multimedia artist based in Greenwich, Connecticut. Her current body of work aims to merge traditional art media with technology. By integrating paint, collage, and drawing materials with new technologies such as virtual reality painting in Open Brush, static viewing is transformed into interactive experience. The resulting work is a portal into a dynamic, living ecosystem—one that blurs the boundaries between physical and digital, observation and immersion. Cheryl’s evolving digital landscapes invite curiosity, reflection, and active engagement, redefining what it means to “look” at art in the 21st century.

Iozzo holds a BFA from UMass Lowell, an MAT from the Rhode Island School of Design, and both an Ed.M and Ed.D from Teachers College, Columbia University. As a practicing artist and art educator in Greenwich, CT for over 30 years, her research extends beyond technology in the arts to include dialoguing with students about art through Visual Conversations (2004). This pedagogical strategy fosters student engagement in inquiry-based aesthetic experiences when viewing works of art, without teacher interference.

In 2014, Cheryl was named Greenwich Teacher of the Year and was a Semifinalist for Connecticut Teacher of the Year in 2015. In 2021, Cheryl co-authored Art and Technology: Innovative K-12 Digital Lessons with Dr. Sheyda Ardalan, published by Teachers College Press. Iozzo frequently presents on topics related to art, technology, and global competency at regional and national conferences.
